Texelstroom inside

For a domestic dayferry, Texelstroom is a very spacious ship for her passengers. Below, some pictures will give you an idea of her overall style and feel. On this first one you can clearly see the very distinctive pine-cone shape of the arches across the panoramic windows at the ships inside promenades. Pine of course is very commen in the Waddenzee area that the ship sails in.

The spacious lounges run the whole lenght of the ship with a bar area in between them. Here, you can order buffet-style food and drinks for the short twenty minute haul between Den Helder and Texel. Comfortable seating for the journey is done in natural colours reminesent of the ships surroundings and the walls are adorned by panoramic pictures of the island of Texel.

A more intimate and smaller lounge can be found on the ships panoramapromenade. Under the enjoyment of a self-service coffee, it is possible to plug in electronic devices like laptops here so you can do a little work while travelling. As most tourists will flock to the main lounges, buffetbar or the outside decks, it is mostly a little bit more of a quiet space aboard.

Convenient, the cardeck of the Texelstroom is really designed with the knowledge that cars are getting bigger so also these decks are quite spacious. Loading and unloading is undertaken in a rapid pace and everything on these decks is designed to reduce waitingtimes to make sure you can get your car on and off the ship easily and quickly. Multiple stairways and elevators connect the cardeck to the passengerdecks above.

The outside decks of the ship are located just forward and aft of the main passengerdeck, but in contradiction to the earlier Dokter Wagemaker, the Texelstroom doesn't have a more expansive topdeck.
