As Costa Deliziosa is a direct sister to Costa Luminosa, the lay-out of both ships is exactly the same. The differences between the two are mostly seen in the use of colours, materials and of course the overall theme. The overall theme of the Costa Deliziosa is 'shapes' As a centerpiece in the Atrio Delle Delizie, a sculpture made by Arnaldo Pomodoro with the title 'Sfera' (The Sphere) draws immitiate attention. Arnaldo Pomodoro is familiar with designing artworks for cruiseliners, as he has also made works for the Costa Romantica and for Fred. Olsen's Balmoral earlier in his carreer. The atrium is mostly decorated in warm pink, caramel and brown. Of course, the atrium is the central hub on the ship, connecting many public spaces and in itself it is a place to relax, see and be seen. A stairway connects Gardenia Deck (2) and Azalea Deck (3), but it rises up to Magnolia Deck (10) where the Club Deliziosa specialityrestaurant tops it of. Next to The Sphere, in the Atrium also a large painting by Mario Donizetti decorates the space under the title of 'Phisical Delight And Interlectual Delight'.
Glass elevators connect the decks in between and give a spectacular view In total, the ship has 15 elevators, well spaced so it is very easy to move up and down throught the ship without you having to walk too far.
The largest public rooms are placed at the Gardenia Deck (2) and those include the Ristorante Albatros, that is the main restaurant aboard and is shown above. Sadly, during my tour of the ship waiters were very busy preparing so the picture is sadly not giving a good overview but I wanted to add it anyway. As you can see, it is a very large space similar to the Taurus restaurant at the Costa Luminosa and spread out over two decks overlooking the stern of the ship. Spread over the same two decks but a little forward of the restaurant is the Discoteca Sharazad, shown below.
This space sports a large videowall, of course a dancefloor and a bar, surrounded by colourfull seats in again unusual shapes. It is one of the most popular after-diner venues aboard. Passing the atrium further forward is the large casino, named Casino Gaius. Like normal at Costa ships, it is a big, shipwide space offering a lot of possibilities to get rid of surplus money or, of course, to earn back your cruise.
Next to the Casino Gaius is the Mono Virtuale, the virtual world and playroom. This space is pictured below.
Furthermore towards the bow of the ship, there is the largest lounge aboard, dubbed Grand Bar Mirabilis. The space is done mostly in blues, greens and yellows and of course the many seats are done in several shapes and sizes. But the room still has its own vibe and there is also a small bandstand and dancefloor as an alternative to the discoteque. Of course the music played here where you can dance to is of another kind.
The Grand Bar Mirabilis, the Latin name for 'amazing', has also its centerpiece, a very colourfull sculpture 'Butterflies' in every colour you can imagine. Just because the space itself is very tame in colours, it really stands out underneath the spiral staircase leading up the the deck above. In total, there are around 340 artworks aboard, next to 4756 prints and paintings. The butterfly-sculpture shown next to this text was created by Carla Tolomeo, who created another sculpture for the Costa Marina also in the same year (2010) with the name 'Luna in Pesci'.
The most forward space on the Gardenia Deck (2) is the Teatro Duse, spread out over three decks. The theater seats 800 people and is the largest venue aboard, hosting all kinds of shows and musical performances. The picture below gives some overview of the Duse theater.
Up one deck from Gardenia Deck, that you can imagine is the most used deck aboard in bad weather, the Azalea Deck (3) also offers some fine spaces. Connecting to the Atrio Della Delizie is the ships chapel, pictured below.
A little aft is a somewhat smaller lounge and bar under the name of Bar and Lounge Vanilla.
Forward of the atrium is the ships library and internet point, shown below. In its vicinity are also the conference room, the artgallery and the photo gallery.
Crossing the shoppingcenter you'll find the Caffetaria Sugar that connects to the Grand Bar Mirabilis below by way of the spiral staircase next to the butterfly-sculpture. On the other side of the ship, there is the Piano Bar Excite, with a wooden piano and a small wooden dancefloor. Decor here is a little more quiet then most of the other spaces aboard.
The five decks above, Camelia (4), Giglio (5), Ortensia (6), Ibisco (7) and Petunia (8) are the main decks of cabins, of which most have their private balconies. I'll show several cabins below, so you can get an idea about what the cabins look like.

Cabin 4301, an E1 category outside with obstructed view (deck 4). | | Cabin 8274, an B8 category with balcony at deck 8. |
Next to this text is a view of cabin 8354, an I3 category inside cabin sleeping four persons. There is a very wide variety of cabins aboard, most of them have seaviews and most cabins and some suites have the possibility of a thirth and fourth bed. A few cabins are designed for passengers using a wheelchair, one of them is cabin 4301 shown above at the left.
From Orchidea Deck (9) onwards, there are the top sundecks of the ship. On the Orchidea Deck, the main swimmingpools are located, the Lido Aqua Regina at the stern and the Lido Azzuro Blu midships. Both pools are flanked by two whirlpools and both have retractable roofs so the pools can also be used in less favorable weathers. Below, I included a picture of the Lido Azzuro, where the ships cooks prepared a very arty buffet. Underneath I show one of the specially created, eatable artworks. Of course, while swimming you can enjoy Jaws, Ghost Ship, Titanic or The Poseidon Adventure here to get you in the right mood for cruising. Well, it is possible that The Love Boat can be viewed on the great screen too...
Orchidea Deck (9) is not only outside fun, There is also the pizzeria and the buffetrestaurant Muscadins that give an informal alternative to the main restaurant. The Ristorante Buffet Muscadins is shown below. It has a cool nautical vibe, filled with many sailingboat models.
Towards the bow at the same deck is the huge Centro Benessere Samsara, the wellness-center aboard. Costa Cruises is very well known for its large-scale wellnessarea's and Costa Deliziosa is no exception. Pictured are the Venus Beauty salon and the ships Gymnasium, as most of the rest of the wellnessarea is closed to visitors for privacy reasons.
The above deck Magnolia (10) is the final destination for the glass elevators in the Atrio Della Delizie and they bring you up to the Club Deliziosa restaurant that overlooks the atrium. It is one of the speciality restaurant aboard the ship and you do have to make a reservation here. It is one of the more quiet places aboard the ship, not only in noise but also in decoration. But there are a few stunning light ornaments in the middle, just above the Atrio.
Magnolia Deck (10) and Fuxia Deck (11) are also the place to find the more sportive types, as here you will find the putting-green area, the Campo da Gioco (sportsdeck), joggingtrack and yoga area. For children, there is their own outside deck Lido Squok at Fuxia Deck and the Squok Club and Teen's Zone are located at Magnolia Deck. I included a picture of the Lido Squok below.
Well, we have now seen most of the ships feautures, but last but not least a Costa favorite is situated at Magnolia Deck too. It's Scuderia Costa, the formula-one race-simulator. Here, you can enjoy racing several formula-one tracks in a full-size racingcar shown below. While waiting for your turn or enjoying to tell others about your new carreer in racing, the Bar Scuderia Costa is right next door.
And last but not least, an applause for the Costa Deliziosa.
